Stuart, Florida — One of the most acclaimed real estate companies in the world just arrived in Martin County — after hand-selecting an upstart local firm through which to partner.
The brokerage formerly known as Sailfish Realty of Florida is now Engel & Völkers Stuart — joining a global firm specializing in the sale of premium residential and commercial real estate as well as aircraft and yachts.
“We’re absolutely thrilled,” says John Gonzalez, who founded Sailfish Realty in 2009. “This is a spectacular opportunity for our clients and our team. It gives us the ability to showcase our properties to some of the most exclusive markets in the world, and offer our already talented staff a host of resources that will only heighten the level of professionalism we provide locally.”
Founded in Hamburg, Germany, in 1977, Engel & Völkers operates in 32 countries on four continents and employs more than 8,500 people. Its celebrated training regiments and worldwide marketing presence provided strong appeal to Gonzalez and his business partner, Eddie Arguelles, who were approached by Engel & Völkers about joining its network.
“We realized very quickly that the operation John and Eddie had created bore all the high-caliber hallmarks of an Engel & Völkers shop — from the professionalism of their online presence to the polished presentation of their listings,” says Timo Khammash, managing partner with Engel & Völkers Florida tasked with growing the brand statewide. “So, we’re very excited to be working with them — especially in a market with all the appeal and possibilities of Martin County.”
Gonzalez founded Sailfish Realty of Florida to address the needs of a niche real estate market with “high-quality, consumer-focused real estate services,” he says.
Arguelles ensured Sailfish Realty of Florida adopted distinct branding and invested in a strong web presence. He also assembled a support team seldom associated with smaller real-estate firms — including an in-house graphic designer and a social-media expert.
“We’re especially honored that Engel & Völkers came to us,” says Arguelles. “We knew their work and loved their established history of success — particularly their clean, organized, systematic approach to operations and branding.
“Best of all,” Arguelles says, “is the fact that our shop will stand as the only Engel & Völkers partner serving Martin County. That exclusivity is key, and it also gives our clients confidence that our staff — which lives here and is intimately familiar with Martin County — will grow stonger. With the training and technological advances of Engel & Völkers at our disposal, our clients will enjoy an even higher level of service for their real-estate needs.”
