Recently the LA, Beverly Hills and Santa Monica offices of Engel & Volkers were able to host an event at the L. A. Louver Gallery celebrating David Hockney's beautiful art work. The event showcased new pieces by Hockney that were designed on an iPad and printed for exhibition. The exhibition, titled "The Yosemite Suite," consists of over two-dozen works that depict the landscape and vistas of one of America's most renowned national parks.
David Hockney is considered one of the most influential artist of the 20th century. His wide range of talent is demonstrated in the variety of media he has made use of over the years. Hockney's versatile talents have been seen in his paintings, prints, photographs and stage designs. The pieces shown in "The Yosemite Suite" demonstrate Hockney's eagerness to experiment with new media.
A native Englishman, Hockney has been living in California since 1966. The omnipresent swimming pools of L.A. became one of his favorite subjects, and he produced many pieces featuring pools including the iconic "A Bigger Splash." Many of his most famous works center around the lifestyle and architecture of Los Angeles.
You can view "The Yosemite Suite" at the L.A. Louver Gallery through the beginning of September.
