• Engel & Völkers is seeking to recruit more than 100 sales advisors in Madrid
Hamburg/ Madrid. Engel & Völkers has opened a Market Center (MC) in the centre of Madrid. The MC is located on the Calle de Génova in the Chamberí district of the city, and spans some 1,300 square metres in size. The aim of this concept is the brokerage of high-end residential property throughout the entire municipal area of Madrid. “With the new MC we want to significantly extend our market position in the Spanish capital and emerge as one of the leading property service providers there,” said Paloma Pérez Bravo, Managing Director of the Engel & Völkers Market Center in Madrid. “For this strong growth we are still looking to recruit more than 100 sales advisors.”
International buyer enquiries on the rise
Engel & Völkers has been operating successfully on the market in Madrid since 2005. “Madrid is one of the most interesting European locations for real estate investment. Over the past year the ratio of international search clients rose by around 30 percent and we expect this figure to increase even further in the future,” Ms. Pérez Bravo revealed. The highest sale price for a property recorded by Engel & Völkers in 2014 lay in the region of 12 million euros. The most expensive addresses in Madrid include the Calle de Serrano in the Salamanca district, the Plaza de la Independencia in the Retiro district and the Calle de Almagro in the Chamberí district. “As much as 12,000 euros per square metre are being paid for residences in these locations,” accordingly to Ms. Pérez Bravo.
Optimum service platform for sales advisors
There are already more than 100 sales advisors working at the MC in Madrid, with around 100 advisors due to join their ranks in the coming months. Engel & Völkers is looking to hire 2,000 new sales advisors worldwide by the end of the year. The MC is equipped with modern workplaces and its own in-house Engel & Völkers Academy. All rooms have been furnished in the company’s clear Corporate Design. “We have set ourselves the task of offering sales advisors the best service platform. With this objective in mind we have, for example, our own departments for Human Resources, Marketing and IT,” said Paloma Pérez Bravo. “The international network of Engel & Völkers with more than 500 locations worldwide gives sales advisors access to a global pool of search clients.” Madrid is the sixth Market Center to be opened by Engel & Völkers. Other Market Centers have already started operating in Barcelona, New York, Bogotá, Vienna and on Malta. In addition to the MC itself, there are plans to open three Property Lounges. These Property Lounges will serve as places to make initial contact with prospective clients at strategically important points around the Spanish capital.
