Giving Back

Monday, December 19th, 2016 at 2:00pm Engel Völkers

During this holiday season, Engel & Völkers shops across North America are giving back to their local communities in a variety of ways. Whether it be to support our network's cause-marketing sponsor Special Olympics, or to help other local organizations, here are some members of the Engel & Völkers family who have volunteered their time and resources to support their local communities this winter season.

Engel & Völkers Hilton Head Island - Bluffton Lends Space in Wake of Hurricane Matthew Devastation

After Hurricane Matthew destroyed the local South Carolina Special Olympics and Recreation (SOAR) Chapter’s office, equipment and furniture, Engel & Völkers Hilton Head Island - Bluffton volunteered to share a portion of the shop’s office space with the organization in need. In addition to sharing the shop’s space, Engel & Völkers Hilton Head Island - Bluffton are also very involved in Engel & Völkers North America’s 2016 Spirit of Giving campaign, actively fundraising for Special Olympics during this holiday season.

First Engel & Völkers Classic Cup Held at the Houston Polo Club

Engel & Völkers Houston held the first ever Engel & Völkers Classic Cup at the Houston Polo Club as part of the Club’s Fall Season final matches, presented by Moët & Chandon. Over 500 guests were in attendance at the event where top equestrian teams from the U.S., including teams from Wellington and Houston, and from around the world competed in the Classic Cup. The shop fundraised for Special Olympics at the event, and Special Olympics Texas and USA athlete Katherine Richards was in attendance. Richards competes in horseback riding and tennis and became one of the first U.S. female athletes to win an INAS World Title after winning a gold medal in 2014. Engel & Völkers Sanibel Island sponsored the shop's Team Assistant Emily Raidt to compete in "Playing to Keep Families Close", a tennis tournament held at the Beachview Tennis Club in Sanibel, Florida in support of the Ronald McDonald House and families in need. International Tennis Hall of Fame Coach Nick Bollettieri hosted the tournament, partnered with Lily & Co. Jewelers, and the event raised a total of $15,110 for the charity.

Engel & Völkers Toronto Uptown Participates in Local Community’s Annual Toy Mountain Campaign

Engel & Völkers Toronto Uptown was an official drop-off location for the CTV network’s annual Toy Mountain campaign in the Toronto area, collecting new toys for The Salvation Army to give to children in need during the Christmas season. The shop was featured on CTV’s December 8th broadcast of the campaign.

Engel & Völkers Intown Atlanta and Engel & Völkers Brookhaven Atlanta Host Coat and Toy Drives

Engel & Völkers Intown Atlanta once again partnered with One Warm Coat at the shop’s sixth annual coat drive to ensure as many people as possible have warm coats and winter accessories during the cold winter season. After creating multiple call-to-action ads in the local Atlanta INtown paper, promoting on Facebook and sharing banners at the shop, Engel & Völkers Intown Atlanta was able to collect a total of 242 jackets, 29 hats, 16 pairs of gloves, 13 scarves, 3 pairs of new shoes and 2 pairs of jeans.

Additionally, Engel & Völkers Intown Atlanta and Engel & Völkers Brookhaven Atlanta hosted a toy drive in support of Toys for Tots, collecting toys for children in need. Just as successful as the coat drive, members from the shops’ local communities generously donated toys for the fundraiser and filled multiple boxes with donations.
