Locals know the place to be in DC in October is…at a festival or street fair. While this area hosts festivals throughout the year, our (usually!) spectacular fall weather allows for enough fall harvest festivals, pre-Halloween events, and “Taste of [insert your favorite neighborhood here]” food and drink options to challenge even our most Type-A friends. Not kidding here: many of these events start first thing tomorrow morning, October 1 and most are held rain or shine. So warm up your browser for event details today, bring an umbrella if you’re heading out tomorrow morning, and let’s look at some of our options, yes?

Event Category #1: FOOD. Often accompanied by an “autumn” theme.

Looking for something to do this weekend? Come join us as we run/walk to help raise money for the veterans in our community. The Sun Valley Realtors Community Foundation is using this event to launch a new veteran housing assistance program.

5B Realtors for Veterans will give all proceeds raised from the fun run to sustainable housing assistance for local veterans and their families. According to the most recent US Census about 1,500 veterans live in Blaine County. Unfortunately, a large number of them live below the poverty line, making housing quite difficult. As realtors, we strive to give back to our community, especially to those that have sacrificed so much for the safety of our country.

Online registration has closed for the event, but you

Has wage growth finally arrived?

A trend that's helped force U.S. home ownership to a 50-year low may finally be running out of steam.

According to a new report from Zillow, a real estate and rental marketplace, incomes are now rising faster than home values for the first time since 2011. "We’re finally seeing income growth that we haven’t had for quite some time," said Svenja Gudell, Zillow's chief economist. Yet, "it's a combination of both," she said, when asked in an interview about the effect on house prices themselves: even

Every season in the Roaring Fork Valley offers unique beauty and change.  In comparison to the record-setting 2015, the Aspen Snowmass real estate market has cooled off a bit, with year-to-date unit sales down about 30%.  If August is any indication, however, the market may be stepping out of its 7-month retreat.

August activity was strong and encouraging.  Unit sales increased 44% from last August, 48 properties went under contract (bringing the total to 68), and sales broke $100 million for the first time this year, ranking August the highest yielding month of 2016.
Nevertheless, year-to-date dollar sales are still down 40% and listing inventory is creeping up.  The sharp turn has left some people asking, “Where are the buyers?”  The summer was indeed a
