Business Notes: First year in business

Wednesday, July 6th, 2016 at 9:20am

July 6, 2016.  This is a one year since I started my real estate career and this is my second article, the so called business notes.  The article will be a summary of major events, achievements and failures that happened since July 2015.  I don't want to start my article with failure but initially I planned of having these notes more frequent. But anyhow, here we are!

The first year was very productive and I have been growing personally and professionally. I attended and organised number of events and developed hundreds of business contacts and established a database. The database as of July, 2016 contains under twenty five hundred prospects that receive monthly newsletters, articles, reports etc.

The Capital Polo sponsored by Engel & Volkers was a starting point. Six international polo teams and top polo professionals competed in that charitable event. The proceeds from the event were benefited by the Charity Support Trust, EPIC (Equestrian Partners in Conversation), the Mexican Cultural Institute and The National Trust for our Wounded. It was widely covered in local and international news portals.

My next step was to obtain the Engel & Volkers Certified Program certificate (EVCP). The program was held in Richmond in the capital of Virginia. I learned one more time about this incredible brand, it's history, advantages and opportunities. I made dozens of friends with our colleagues from different shops. Engel & Volkers number of employees reached to eight thousand this year so keeping in touch with colleagues from different shops is an essential part of our work.

Opening a shop in Lansdowne, Leesburg was another big event for me and our organisation. The official ceremony was attended by notable guests locally and from around the country followed by speakers honoring the occasion and a ribbon cutting ceremony.

Beginning of the year, I traveled to Texas for the annual and the largest North America Engel & Volkers event the Exchange. I met with my colleagues from the USA and Canada. Exchange is the best place to learn the vision of the organisation and to meet top real estate professional from different shops who share the same belief in exceptional qualities of this brand.

After the trip from Engel & Volkers Exchange and EVCP training I obtained my second real estate license from our neighboring state Maryland (MD). The Maryland real estate license will help me expand my area of operations. I have been taking some other courses such as commercial real estate, website development, rezora (marketing platform) and read dozens of industry related books and articles.

Business Development was my number one priority for last twelve months. We became member of different chambers and institutions in the region. It has resulted in several projects. These projects mainly concentrate in the real estate development. We signed agreements with leading architects, developers, investors and other business entities in the area. These agreements will open doors for an incredible opportunities and contribute to the regional economical development in the near future. We are now part of the OASIS project. The OASIS project aimed at developing sustainable communities in and outside of the USA.

In addition, I reached to our Tajik Community members to assist them with their home purchases. I wish it was more intense nonetheless we made progress in this regard.  We organized several one to one sessions to educate community members about current real estate market trends. As I noted, on my last year's article people are still sceptical about taking loans. They are having difficult time to comprehend procedures and make the final decision but couple members made their dream come true and  already enjoying their new homes and some are waiting for the right moment. I am planning on organising many more sessions for our community members in the DMV area. Some disruption happened in this process when I broke my foot during my regular sport activity. It didn't allow me to do much for almost two months.

In  conclusion, I would like to share some of my future plans for the coming year. I will continue to educate myself. I am planning to obtain my third license for the District of Columbia (DC) early next year. I am ready to explore new business opportunities. Speaking about opportunities, I would like to invite all interested parties who is willing to invest and participate in local and international real estate projects. We are open for the discussion.

I will make sure that the coming year will be even more productive. All above mentioned, wouldn't have been possible without a great support from all of you our readers, partners, clients, customers and everybody who is following my posts and blogs through different marketing and social platforms. Thank you again for your support.
