Celebrate the Start of Summer

Winter is not the only time to visit Aspen. Spend time here and you will constantly hear the phrase “come for the winter, stay for the summer”. The consistent, comfortable weather along with the plethora of events held throughout the season make the summers in Aspen a favorite season among locals and second home owners.

                The annual Food and Wine Classic is the kickoff to summer here in Aspen. Start the weekend off with the Food and Wine Classic 5k Charity Race on Friday, June 16th at 7:00 am. Run alongside celebrity chefs, winemakers, and culinary experts through the streets of Aspen in this fun 3.1 mile run. Click here to register and for more information. Proceeds benefit the Wholesome Wave Charity. The Food and Wine Classic starts after the race on Friday. The Food and Wine Classic is known for being the nation’s premier wine and culinary festival. It features world renowned chefs and sommeliers teaching and presenting in a breath-taking setting.                 Starting June 17 organic Colorado produce, handmade crafts, prepared food, and live music will be featured in the streets of Aspen every Saturday morning for the Aspen Farmer’s Market. Farmer’s Market Saturdays are a favorite among locals of all ages. It is weekly event that brings the community together and showcases some of our great local farms. For more information click here.

                Following the Food and Wine Classic is the Aspen Ideas Festival. The Ideas Festival is known for being one of the world’s top gatherings for world leaders and influencers. This 10 day festival explores, analyzes, and challenges our culture and society. With 350 presenters, 200 sessions, and 3,000 attendees scheduled for this year- there is sure to be something for everyone. The Aspen Music Festival and School continues the list of summer events from June into July. Starting June 29th, recitals will take place throughout town until August 20th. Be sure to check out the Benedict Music Tent- a seasonal concert hall featuring the Aspen Music School’s best musicians. Each performance features a different style of classical music.                 There’s nothing like celebrating the 4th of July in the Wild West. The Aspen “Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration” features a carnival, a parade, picnics, live music, and of course- fireworks.
