The annual Holiday Basket program is officially underway for 2016! Supported by the Sun Valley Board of Realtors Community Foundation since 2003, the Holiday Basket program is seeking new, unwrapped toys for over 900 children in the community.
Unfortunately, the annual Motorcycle Toy Run, which has donated toys to the program for more than 20 years, was canceled this year. Therefore, this year's toy supply is at an all time low! In order to supplement that loss, the foundation has set up a toy drive this week. Toys collected in your offices can be dropped off on Friday, December 2nd at two different locations. The Sun Valley Visitor Center/Starbuck's and the Hailey Chamber of Commerce will be accepting all donated toys from 9am to 5pm. Toys will also be accepted at the Winter Wonderland door on Saturday, December 3rd. Winter Wonderland takes place at the Community Campus in Hailey from 11am to 4pm.
Last year, Holiday Baskets were able to help more than 400 families. Each qualified family receives a food basket with everything needed for a great holiday meal. The program also provides children under 18 with gifts of warm clothing, books, toys and toothbrushes!
If you are unable to donate a toy, monetary donations can be made via check or online at www.svholidaybaskets.org
Help us make this holiday season bright for all families in our community! The generous spirit of the Sun Valley area is one of the many things that makes this place so special!
