In the past year, humanity has been hit by countless acts of terrorism, racism and to put it simply—hatred. The attacks on Paris, Brussels, Orlando and just yesterday, France. Not to mention acts of police brutality, wrongful shootings and many innocent lives being taken.
Don’t worry, I’m going to refrain from any personal viewpoint that may or may not be taken offensively. Instead, I’m here to encourage and remind you about one, very simple idea. Compassion. The idea that, you never know for sure what someone might be going through. Love and compassion are necessities not luxuries. We all have a story. We all have successes; we all have shortcomings. It’s unfair to compare. You are continuously going to have more than some and less than others—so stop.
At the end of the day, the only thing that you can control or be sure of is yourself. So work on that. Authenticity breads genuineness which breads--compassion.
I encourage you to insert happiness and compassion into your life! Put others before yourself. Assume nothing, share, slow down and listen. We all have a story and I'm not perfect, so let's become better everyday!
“Later that night, I held an atlas in my lap—ran my fingers across the whole world and whispered-where does it hurt? It answered—Everywhere.”
