Intern Update: Indulge Your Senses & Charleston Charm

Wednesday, April 5th, 2017 at 10:19am Engel & Völkers Hilton Head Island - Bluffton and Beaufort

It’s been an exciting couple of weeks here at the office with the company hosting its first luxury home experience and diving into the realm of virtual reality. Last Tuesday, Engel & Völkers paired with local luxury brands to host Indulge Your Senses at one of the Mark Mayer Team listings, 23 McKays Point Road. For this event, I had the opportunity to help prepare the beautiful home to host 75 guests, and help create marketing content to share the luxury home features with the community. By helping with this event, I got to see the importance of advisor – client relations in action. It was great to see the event come together and be so enjoyable for the home owners, guests, brand sponsors and the Mark Mayer Team. As for virtual reality, the company just received a camera with 360' photo capability, helping to create virtual reality tours of our home listings. So, over the past few days of having the camera I’ve had the opportunity to explore more of Hilton Head and Bluffton by taking photos of our listings. I’ve enjoyed learning to use the camera, editing tools and starting to create virtual tours. By photographing the company listings, I have started to learn the importance in home staging and how little details can go a long way. The more interactions I have with the homes, home owners and advisors, the more I want to learn about the agent side of the company.

This past weekend I decided to see for myself what all the hype about Charleston was. The two-hour drive from Hilton Head to Charleston was a scenic route of curvy roads through the marshlands. As I arrived in the southern charmed town, I fell in love almost immediately. This lively town is overflowing with art galleries and delicious southern eateries. I strolled around rainbow row, wandered down cobble-stoned alleyways and quickly pictured myself living here. The sparkling, pineapple fountain was breathtaking overlooking the Cooper river. This place is crawling with brightly colored front doors and eye-catching flower arrangements at your every turn.  I now understand why everyone finds Charleston so enchanting. I didn’t think anything could beat living in Hilton Head, but I think Charleston has officially won me over. I will be patiently awaiting a future opening of Engel & Völkers in my new favorite town. I am predicting another visit in the near future.
