Intern Update: Meet The New Interns

Tuesday, January 10th, 2017 at 12:00pm Engel & Völkers Hilton Head Island - Bluffton and Beaufort

I am a rare native to the beautiful, sunshine state of Florida. Surprisingly I am as pale as a ghost and I prefer caring for my skin instead of burning it. I am twenty-years old and currently a Senior at the University of South Florida. Go Bulls! I am obsessed with learning about politics and spending most of my time working out. I am majoring in Professional and Technical Communications. My favorite thing about my major is that most of my writing classes are online. This was part of the reason why the transition to South Carolina is so smooth. Due to the flexibility and convenience of taking online classes I knew this internship would work. I would have to take four online classes while working heavy hours. It was going to be tough, but with motivation and my positive attitude I knew I could get the job done. When I first came across this internship, I immediately knew this was the one for me. An internship that was paid, provided you a luxurious apartment, and a chance to work for an international company. As I read more about the company I started to notice how elegant and high-end this company was. I also learned that they had offices around the world and their headquarters were in Germany. Additionally, not only do they sell these extravagant houses, but they also have an aviation and yacht department. Engel & Völker’s wasn’t an average real-estate company, they took real-estate and customer service to the next level. They showed me this high-quality service by the glamorous two-bedroom, two bath apartment they provided for me. The apartment is modern with some coastal, chic accents with highlights of blue and grey. I don’t know what I loved more the king-sized bed or my own walk-in shower. I told myself that if the apartment is this nice I can’t wait to see the houses they sell.  I can’t wait to indulge myself into the Engel and Volkers world and enjoy this incredible learning opportunity.

Engel & Völkers truly embodies every aspect of their brand. In my short time here, I have already witnessed the detail oriented work that every person puts in to ensure the absolute best customer experience. Along with Engel & Völkers attention to customer service, they do an excellent job of giving back to the community through their philanthropic focus with SOAR Special Recreation. Due to Hurricane Matthew, SOAR lost their office, but Engel & Völkers has happily shared office space and supported fundraising for them to start anew.  To work for a company with such care for the Hilton Head Island community is wonderful. I am excited to learn from such a highly driven group of individuals whom of which are incredibly warm and welcoming. I look forward to learning every day about the real estate industry from this world-renowned company.

I am a junior from Ohio University studying marketing. During my time at Ohio University, I have become a charter member of the Eta Omicron chapter of Gamma Phi Beta as well as their first social media chairwoman. I have also participated as a blogger and promoter for local university concerts through Prime Social Group. I look forward to finishing my degree and pursuing a career in marketing, branding, and event planning.
