It's Brunch Time Portland!

Living in the Portland area is a great luxury for many reasons, but for one, this Northwest city is one of the epicenters for culinary experiences especially when is comes to breakfast food. Be sure to plan your brunch date ahead because many places near Portland book early for weekend brunches or have long waits every Saturday or Sunday between 10am to 1pm. If you have time, try grabbing bunch during the week or eating earlier on the weekend. We put together a list of the some of our favorite brunch places around the Portland area.

Screen Door is a breakfast, lunch a dinner restaurant located in the Laurelhurst neighborhood. While many of the menu items are influenced from traditional southern food, they use local, natural and organic ingredients. Menu includes southern favorites: chicken and waffles, lowcountry breakfast shrimp & grits, bananas foster French toast, and Screen Door praline bacon waffle. Jam on Hawthorne Café and Arthouse is just across the Willamette river over the Hawthorne Bridge. Jam is only open for breakfast and lunch from 7:30 am to 3 pm daily. There is a children’s play area so that parents can enjoy brunch in peace while Jam also haa a separate bar area for adults who really need some peace and quiet. Down to Earth Café makes homemade breakfast, lunch and fresh vegetable juices. They are open daily from 8 am to 3 pm, located in the Multnomah Village. Babica Hen Café has two locations one in Dundee and one in Lake Grove. At the Lake grove location Babica Hen is open 7 am to 3 pm Tuesday through Sunday with an amazing array of baked goods for selection. Babica Hen Café in Dundee is open daily and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Their menu includes gluten free and both locations use farm fresh eggs, pasture raised pork and all-natural northwest beef. Whether you are feeling some southern style home cooking, maybe a lighter organic meal or possibly your craving something sweet, these Portland area brunch places are sure to delight. Plan ahead and check if the restaurant offers reservations if you are craving brunch on the weekend; while you can usually stroll on in during the week after 9 am.
