Live Your Passion by Owning a Historic Winery and Estate

Tuesday, May 30th, 2017 at 2:24pm Engel & Völkers Madeira Beach

Live your passion by owning a stunning winery with significant American history ties

140 acre winery and estate offered for sale in Upstate New York

The Underground Railroad traversed this property helping fugitive slaves as they ran to find freedom in Canada, leading to the prominent name (winery’s name available on request).  This unique winery is located at or near the same latitude as many of the finest wine regions in France (43 degrees). Glacial soil and the Niagara escarpment provide the optimum nutrients and climate. In addition to the world-class grape vines grown in the vineyard is a 1,000 tree apple orchard.

Pinot Noir is the most planted grape variety; however the winery boasts over 19 different wines to include varieties of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Riesling. The winery also produces its own take on sparkling wine. A unique product of the winery is Apple Jack, a delicious dessert wine produced using their luscious apples.

This boutique winery comes as a turn-key operation with current management willing to stay in place. Sale also includes over $2 million in wine ready for distribution.

Weddings and events booked through 2018

Set against the backdrop of a thousand tree apple orchard, is a rustic barn, built in 1826 with stone from the Erie Canal, and updated in 2007 by the Amish with original hemlock.

There is a wide staircase leading up to a raised stage with a magnificent cut glass chandelier. The barn doors slide open to capture the sweet breezes.  This is a perfect place to hold a wedding ceremony, have a sit down or family style dinner, and it even converts to a 'night club' for dancing.

Located on this property is a 13,000 sq ft. state of the art wine tasting and production room capable of comfortably holding 180 guests. There is also a covered patio overlooking the great lawn which can accommodate large tents. Together all the event areas can accommodate up to 500 guests.

The Manor House was built in 1826 and has been fully restored to its original grandeur

The home features 12 foot ceilings, plantation style windows and cherry wood floors. The grand foyer entrance offers a flow through plan around a spiral staircase. There is a large living room with adjoining formal dining room, a separate library, and an elegant powder room, as well as a fully equipped new kitchen. On the second floor there are three spacious bedrooms. The 'Guest of Honor' and the 'Four Poster' bedrooms share a full bathroom, and the 'Wedding Suite' has its own en-suite bathroom with shower/steam room.

Also on the property is a separate brick family home featuring 4+ bedrooms and 3,038 sq ft. It is currently income producing but would make a fine primary residence.

This world class vineyard is more than a winery. It is a lifestyle – full of passion and history – and unparalleled quality.  Sale includes acreage and all buildings. US $13,000,000.
