Our Inaugural Five Questions With Series...Featuring Jim Underwood, Real Estate Advisor (and Great Dad!)

Saturday, June 16th, 2018 at 7:39pm Engel & Völkers New Orleans

We couldn’t think of a better person or time to launch our “5 Questions With...” series.   This new, monthly blog series we will feature one of our expert Real Estate Advisors answers to a rapid fire session of 5 simple questions!

This inaugural edition coincides with Father’s Day for several reasons….from the important role each of our father’s played in our lives to the lasting legacy that my co-owner’s Anne Delery Comarda and Joyce Delery father, Judge Oliver S. Delery left in the community.    And, one of those reasons is that we are featuring Jim Underwood. Jim is one of the original agents who joined Anne and Joyce as they launched their independent, boutique brokerage which has become Engel & Völkers New Orleans. He is the consummate professional and has provided advice and support every step of the way - is admired by our entire team - and, he just happens to be a great father!  Many have had had and continue to have the opportunity to watch his children grow up in person!

  1. How old are your children? I have a 21, 12 & 8 year old.

  2. How would describe your perfect Father's Day - as a son, or as a father? I've always felt very lucky to be a father, and having my kids celebrate me, of all things, is a special feeling. As long as my children are all around Father's Day is perfect. It's a true gift.

  3. For you, what is one of the most rewarding aspects of being a father? While it's bittersweet, watching my children grow into who they are has been more fulfilling than I ever could have imagined.

  4. If you were given a gift certificate to go anywhere in the world without your family (we know you love them, but consider this as the chance of a lifetime and view this as your reward for being a great dad), where would it be? If I have to name one place, I suppose it would have to be New Zealand...but it wouldn't be much of a reward if I had to do it without my wife and kids.

  5. What is one of you and your wife's favorite things to do with your kids? We all love to camp - just a couple steps above completely roughing it is perfect. The kids seem to be at their best there.

A Personal Note:   Jim and his family are in the midst of a renovation and addition to their home in Lakeview.  So, if you seem him and he appears to have been camping, just know it might have been a rough few days as their progress continues….    We can’t wait to see the final results!
