Bergamot Station is a collection of art galleries in a former industrial complex on Michigan Avenue. Take the new Metro to Bergamot and plan to spend the day perusing the galleries and shops contained with the complex. Whether you are a lover of fine art, sculpture, or contemporary art, you will find something to your liking in one of the many galleries.
Formerly known as The Santa Monica: Museum of Art, the Institute of Contemporary Art is part of the Bergamot Station complex. The only non-collecting museum in Southern California, the gallery exhibits work from local, national, and international artists.
Hamilton Galleries moved to Santa Monica in 2001, and it is now positioned with a gorgeous view of the Bay and the Santa Monica Pier. The gallery is committed to showing the work of Southern California artist like Warren Long and Dennis Newell.
You can get your contemporary art fix by visiting one of our favorite local galleries, LA Louver. In August, Engel & Volkers was able to host a wonderful event at LA Louver celebrating the work of David Hockney. That exhibit just closed, but exciting new exhibits have just opened.
