The Best Dog-Friendly Places To Take Your Furry Friends This Fall

As we head into the cooler temperatures of Fall it is the perfect time to get out and enjoy the city with your four legged friends!  Austin widely known as one of the best cities for dog owners offers an array of options from parks and trails to dog-friendly bars and restaurants.  We have gone ahead and compiled our favorite pet friendly spots around Austin, TX.  

Dog Friendly PlacesAustin-Area Parks: 

Red Bud Isle: This popular leash-free park for dogs offers trails and swimming. But get there early as parking is limited.

Turkey Creek Trail at Emma Long Metropolitan Park: Enjoy the Turkey Creek nature trail at Emma Long located in northwest Austin. Having so much fun you want to stay all night? Camping is available.

Zilker Park: The City of Austin operates 12 off-leash dog areas in the city. One of the most popular areas is Zilker Park, with its unfenced grass oasis and amazing views of the city.

Commons Ford Park: This hidden gem sits on the shore of Lake Austin in the Cuernevaca neighborhood of Westlake.  This pet friendly spot offers a large flat park that slopes into the cool waters of Lake Austin!

Contigo Austin: This local favorite on the southern edge of the rapidly growing Mueller Community offers farm to table Texas cuisine in an open air family friendly atmosphere, perfect for your pets as well.  For more info visit here.

Hotel San Jose on South Congress:

This boutique hotel has been a main stay of Austin's SOCO strip and is a favorite place to book a stay or grab a drink and snacks at the pool!  The hotel itself is pet friendly, but if your looking to just check out the hotel bring your dog in for a drink and enjoy the covered patio.  More info here.

Mozart’s Coffee Roasters & Bakery

This coffee shop offers an assortment of hot and cold beverages, pastries, and cheesecakes. Wi-Fi is complimentary and dogs are welcome on the beautiful patio overlooking Lake Austin.  More info here.

Yard Bar in North Austin

This dog park and bar is a newcomer to the Austin scene.  A converted miniature golf course, this is a doggy paradise and offers a playground and off-leash zone for the pups to enjoy, while owners can sip cocktails and watch their dogs play!  More info here.
