Want to watch a dumpster or a dairy truck morph into a luxurious home? Then you'll love the new FYI show "You Can't Turn That Into a House," where brothers Taimoor and Rehan Nana renovate an assortment of odd structures, miraculously transforming them into awe-inspiring retreats.
On this series (which premieres on July 15), designer Rehan and businessman Taimoor tour the country looking for broken-down vehicles and other castoffs that they can fashion into gorgeous living spaces. These brothers hail from Kansas City, MO, and have been making a name for themselves ever since they turned an abandoned grain silo into an off-the-grid luxury lodge. But they don't do it alone: They confess they'd be lost without their contractor, architect, and lifelong friend Kyle Davis.
If you're curious to see the cutting edge of what can truly become a home, this show won't disappoint. Here's a sneak peek at some structures before and after their transformation.
A storage tank
The thought of converting a rusting metal storage tank into a country getaway would be daunting to most people, but Taimoor and Rehan turn the idea (and the tank) on its side. This renovation is particularly challenging because miscalculated measurements, abrupt additions, and mounds of mud are involved.
"These builds are like molding something from clay ... rusty, sharp, dangerous clay," says Rehan.
A carnival trailer
A couple with a family history in the carnival trade found an old carnival trailer for $300, and now they want Taimoor and Rehan to convert it into a grandma-friendly guesthouse. Not only do they step up to the plate, they also manage to find colorful circus accessories for the interior.
A bison shed and shipping container
The brothers are tasked with merging an old bison shed and shipping container into one trendy hangout for two teenage girls—and the clock is ticking, because one of the girls has a birthday coming up! By standing the shipping container on its end, they create two stories, which is much more fun than one.
Two dairy trucks
Take two decrepit old dairy trucks, combine them with a pass-through, and garnish with dormer windows and decks! Voilà: You have a scrumptiously sweet retreat.
Two school buses
WillandTana think a couple of old school buses could be combined to make the perfect home in Cypress, TX. High school flashbacks, anyone?
You Can't Turn That Into a House," airs Saturdays at 9:30 p.m. ET on FYI.
